My inner fan girl is screaming right now. Sony has reportedly sent out their invites for a September 7th PlayStation meeting (um, Sony, I think you may have forgotten my invite!). Many are taking that to mean that the Neo is going to be revealed. The updated PS4 is slated to be a higher end version of the current console that can play games in 4k. Not bad, when you consider that the current PS4 will also still be sold. It will certainly be a throw back to the days of PS2 and PS3, which both had newer, slim versions come out later on.
So far Sony hasn’t addressed that this meeting, but it is a good idea to think it will be about the Neo. Sony held back on it during E3 and seem to want to really keep their competing age going on. Plus with September really kicking off the holiday season plans (I am a Christmas girl at heart, so bear with me), it could really boost their sales. Especially if they release it ahead of this holiday season. Not saying that will be the case, but to announce it a few months after E3 and around the start of the holiday season does make it for a curious case.
What do you think the PlayStation Neo holds for our gaming future?
