Good news for anti-Apple and pro Microsoft fans everywhere, they have slashed $100 off their Microsoft Surface tablets. This is good news as they tackle Apple and Android with a new marketing plan that includes picking on Apple. Previously the devices cost more around the price of the iPad, but it appears Microsoft is seeking more of an edge again their competitors. The price cuts go into effect today with the following reductions.
The Surface Pro 64GB is now being sold at $799, while the 128GB is being sold at $899 dollars. This comes in a few weeks after the Surface RT price was cut to $349. The prices are only being offered in US and Canada ahead of the school year and will last as long as supplies last. So it sounds like a new Surface upgrade could be in our future. Similar discounts are being offered in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
Besides of the price cuts being offered at Microsoft stores, Best Buy and Staples are also cutting the prices for the school season. It isn’t clear on how long they will, but hopefully they are similar to the ones at the actual Microsoft stores.
