Barnes & Noble have been battling the e-reader market with Amazon’s Kindle, so it comes as no surprise that they are in fear of a new Kindle Fire. However, what can the popular e-reader do? Cut prices of course! So that is what they are doing with all 3 models, well ahead of the school season and holiday shopping as well.
The 16GB Nook Tablet is now down to $199 (same price as the Kindle Fire), while the 8GB version is now priced at $179. The Nook Color is the lowest as usual and they even cut the price down for it even further to $149. The new prices are in effect now, just in time for back to school. Amazon has yet to lower the price of the Kindle Fire, but with a new one on the verge of being released we should expect a new price point for the Fire.
Will this give you a new reason to try the Nook or to buy one? I might, but I would have tried it even if the new price cuts were not taking place. I am a fan of Barnes & Noble and they look like interesting e-readers. Plus I want to compare it to the Kindle.
