The war with Apple and RIM is in full force, Acer is planning on to launch 5 new products starting in December and 2011. Their new products are a smartphone, table/laptop hybrid and 3 new tablet computers. Here is the break down on these new products.
This will be the hybrid laptop/tablet PC. It will run on Windows 7 Premium, 14-inch display, Bluetooth 3.0, on board, 2 1.3MP cameras, 3G support, Intel graphics card, Intel Core i5 CPU, 3 USB(two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0), 4GB RAM and a 750GB HD. The display can double as a touch screen with 5-finger pressing, and will cost around $2,300 USD. It is rumored to debut in the middle of January
The 3 tablets will come in either 10 or 7 inches, and will have either Android or Windows 7. The Windows one will only debut as 10-inch, but you will be able to buy a 10 or 7 inch Android based one. They will support 3G and Wi-Fi, dual-core Tegra processor, pre-installed Gyroscope, HDMI output, 5 MP rear camera, and a ten-point multi-touch system. They are slated to come out in April and no word on how much. The Windows based one will use AMD Processor and can be docked to turn into a full laptop. You can buy the Windows one starting in February and again no report on how much it will cost.
Their smartphone will launch in April and has yet to be given a name. It is rumored to copy the Dell Streak, which means it is a smartphone that can also double as a limited tablet. Unlike the iPhone or iPad, it will support flash and run on the Android OS. It features 2 cameras(8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP ), 1GHZ processor, and Bluetooth 3.0. No word on what carriers will support this phone.
In addition, Acer will be launching a file sharing service that can be used between two Acer products. UK and Italy will be the first to try out Clear.fi and their iTunes replacement called Alive. Both will be interlinked with each other.
What are you thoughts on these new products?
